Lake Erie Beach Glass History...

If anyone knows anything about our Ohio shorelines, then you know some of the history behind our glass.

For years Lake Erie was used for dumping trash and damaged goods from ships, as well as shipwrecks and the carelessness of man.

Nature has it's way of correcting those mistakes by naturally tumbling the glass and tiles into beautiful jewels.

The uniqueness of "Lake Erie's Jewels" is that some of the rare colors, glass and tiles can be dated back in the 1800's.

It's hard to walk down our beaches and not pick up these colorful glass pieces.

I have been collecting these pieces for years and decided to do something with them instead of just displaying them in jars.

I hope you enjoy looking through my gallery of jewelry pieces, and hopefully own them too!

(Jewelry not intended or suitable for children)

"Every piece of glass jewelry is one of it's own kind and is the actual piece for sale"

Therefore I am constantly adding new glass pieces and new designs so please check back frequently.

Colored Tiles & Pottery

These "Lucky Stones" are actually called "Otoliths" they come from the heads of all fish, these particular shapes have a "L" or a "J" engraved in them, only the fresh water drum have this type, these are not bones in the fish head, they are actual rocks which make them more durable than a bone, unlike a bone "Otoliths" are a one-way process, new "Otolith" material can be added to the outside surface over time and existing material cannot be removed. For more info on the "Otolith" you can check out this website : www.marinebiodiversity.ca/otolith/english/what.htm I have renamed my "L" & "J" Otoliths to "Lord" & "Jesus" stones.
